Talofa! (Hello in Samoan)
Well here we are in Manasa village in Samoa on the island of Savaii - in four days we have pretty much seen both islands (Savaii and the main island of Upolo) - as some of you said, "you're spending how long in Samoa?" and we cheerfully replied "three weeks!" to which you replied, "hm. that seems like a long time...". I would usually say, emphatically of course, "no way! we'll have a chance to swim and read and walk around and meditate..."
Noooooot quite. You were right. It's time to leave!
As we speak, Alex is trying to get a flight to New Zealand for tomorrow or the next day...
Not to downplay Samoa! it's a beautiful place (the sand! the water! the trees! all from the fantasy tropical island we've all imagined)...it's hot and humid and the people are really friendly....went swimming under a waterfall yesterday...then it began to rain - a fat, warm rain that you can walk around in and stand for a minute and be totally showered...
Alex needs the internet now so i've been rushing this post but you get the gist i hope! next posting from New Zealand and hopefully i'll be able to downloads some pics there...
